Pete Edochie, a veteran Nollywood actor, has confirmed the failed marriage of his fellow actress, Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha.

Although there were murmurs that Chioma's 2016 marriage to Franklyn had ended, these rumors were never proven to be true.

He was also concerned about the increasing number of divorce cases in the Nollywood film industry.

Chioma has neither confirmed nor denied the allegations of her divorce. She also did an excellent job of concealing her husband and children from the public, so the divorce rumors remained mere rumors.

However, it appears that her senior industry colleague, Pete Edochie, has now validated the rumors.

Pete Edochie stated in a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo that he was surprised to hear about Chioma's and other actresses' divorces.

He was also concerned about the increasing number of divorces in the Nollywood film industry, particularly among actresses. He added that matrimony is intended to be for better or worse.

In his words,

“If you come to our Industry today, most of our ladies who got married 2- 3 years ago have all left their husbands, I was shocked that Chioma Chukwa had left her husband, Ireti Doyle, Tonto Dikeh. You take a vow when you are going to get married for better or worst, not for better or out. You will always think it’s greener on the other side, that is the mistake we all make”.
