Despite ongoing police inquiries, Manchester United chooses Antony once more

The Brazilian is still cooperating with police investigations into claims of abuse against women, which he vehemently rejects.

Manchester United winger Antony will start training again and can be chosen to play because he is working with the police to investigate claims of violence against women.

The Brazilian player took time off from work on September 10th, but came back to England earlier this week. He went to talk with the police on Thursday, even though it wasn't mandatory, and has always said that the accusations against him are not true.

United have announced that the 23-year-old will start training again with the intention of rejoining Erik ten Hag's team. However, he will not participate in Saturday's Premier League game against Crystal Palace.

A statement from the club said: "Since people accused Antony in June, he has been cooperating with police investigations in Brazil and the UK. He is still cooperating with them. "

Manchester United, who Antony works for, has decided that he can start training again at Carrington and be chosen for games, even though the police are still investigating.

We will continue to monitor the situation until there are new updates in the case.

As a club, we strongly disapprove of any acts of violence and mistreatment. We understand how important it is to protect everyone involved in this situation, and we realize that these allegations can have a strong effect on survivors of abuse.

Antony is being accused of physically hurting his ex-girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin. Gabriela talked to a Brazilian news outlet called UOL about this.

The player says the allegations are not true and he also denies other claims of assault made by Rayssa de Freitas and Ingrid Lana.

He has not been taken into custody or accused in Brazil or by GMP. He left the voluntary interview without any limitations after providing evidence to support his strong denials.

United will keep watching the situation while the police investigate.

A representative from the charity Women's Aid said that they are aware that the recent news about Manchester United's player, Antony, going back to training and playing despite ongoing police investigations will affect survivors of domestic abuse.

We ask the football organizations to collaborate with expert groups like Women’s Aid to provide important advice for clubs on dealing with domestic violence and how to handle cases of domestic abuse.

It is important to have a smart and steady plan to make a society where domestic abuse is not accepted. We will be sending a letter to national organizations to talk about this.
