At the moment, the England international is having a difficult time at Old Trafford, and it's possible that he will choose to move on in order to get his career back on track.
There's no guarantee that Rashford will remain a first-team regular for Manchester United at the moment, so he might do well to consider a move to a club like West Ham, who proved to be a good fit for his teammate Jesse Lingard when he went on loan to the London club for the second half of the season last year.
United States international Marcus Rashford is still highly regarded by Johnson, who believes a team like West Ham should not be ruled out as a potential destination for the 24-year-old. Rashford appears to be a useful addition to David Moyes' attacking options, who has become increasingly reliant on Michail Antonio for goals.
Manchester United's Marcus Rashford in action.
In an interview with BettingOdds.com, Johnson stated that if Marcus Rashford was performing at his peak, "this wouldn't even be a conversation because he'd be starting for Manchester United every week." West Ham Zone reported that Johnson said this.
"I believe he is a fantastic player. The fact that West Ham is a team that is starting to knock on the door means that anything is possible in this situation."
Luke Chadwick, a former Manchester United midfielder, recently confessed to CaughtOffside that he would be shocked and sad if Marcus Rashford left the club.
"It would surprise me if Rashford were to go." The loss would be regrettable because he is a Manchester boy who came through the club's system and is the type of player you want to see on the field," Chadwick explained.
"However, if he doesn't see the opportunity to play at United, he's a good player, and I believe he'll have suitors," says Sir Alex Ferguson. Rashford hasn't been at the top of his game this season, and this is probably the first time he's experienced a significant downturn in form. However, all players experience dips in form from time to time, and I'd be surprised if Rashford doesn't come out of it and reclaim his place in the starting XI. It is disturbing that he is not performing well, and I am confident that he will recognize that he can do better."
