Harry Maguire's name was booed by the England fans, according to Super Agent.

Agent Rob Segal has weighed in on why he thinks Harry Maguire received the boos from the England fans during the last friendly against Ivory Coast.

After a dismal season with Manchester United, some fans in the Wembley audience expressed their displeasure at Maguire being called up to the England squad with a chorus of boos.

After taking over as England manager, Gareth Southgate stated that players would be selected on merit rather than reputation. Marc Guehi, Tyrick Mitchell and Conor Gallagher are just a few examples of players who've been overlooked for the national team despite not doing well for their clubs.
In an exclusive interview with Caught Offside, Segal said, "I think he got booed because fans realize that if you're not playing well, you shouldn't be playing for England, and just because you play for Manchester United doesn't automatically entitle you to a cap."

If Southampton, Crystal Palace, or West Ham players are performing well, Southgate deserves credit for bringing them up to the first team. In spite of this, England manager Roy Hodgson appears to regard Harry Maguire as a player who is essential, despite the lack of opportunities for other players.

AC Milan's Fiyako Tomori is one of the best defenders in Italy right now. He was conveniently called up while playing for Chelsea, but he is no longer part of the squad behind Maguire.

"Maguire has had a terrible season," says the coach. However, I had assumed that before being called up to represent England, you needed to have a good season at your club. However, that looks to be the case for Harry Maguire, who has been a consistent performer for the national team.
For England, Harry Maguire's performances have been spectacular, but choosing him for this year's World Cup could be risky.

For the past few years, Maguire's inclusion in the All-Star team was supported, but his performances this year have decreased. Southgate has to draw a line and admit that Harry Maguire may not be the right man to lead England to a title.

Because he doesn't seem to take the game in his stride, why was he booed?" As Segal went on to say, "I honestly believe that England fans are sick up with average players being kept in the team."

England's supporters have a right to be angry, according to Segal, and Southgate must adhere to the principles he established when he took over as coach.
