With the help of intermediaries, Man Utd is trying to sign Ajax's winger to join Ten Hag.

Manchester United and Ajax defender Jurrien Timber are allegedly in negotiations about a possible transfer move via intermediaries.

With manager Erik ten Hag's arrival at Manchester United imminent, the 20-year-old has emerged as a bright young star in the Ajax first squad.

In ESPN's estimation, Man United will be given roughly $150 million to spend on new players, and it appears that Timber is already in the works.

With Harry Maguire's dismal showing this season, the Red Devils would be wise to bring in a player whom Ten Hag knows well.

Timber could also be better than Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly, as well as Raphael Varane, who hasn't had the best start to his time at Manchester United since moving from Real Madrid last summer.

Despite Varane's fitness difficulties, the MUFC team as a whole has struggled, as have many other high-profile players.

Pau Torres of Villarreal is another likely defensive target for Manchester United, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
