Erling Haalandto become Man City's second-highest-paid player as huge contract is signed.

This summer, ERLING HAALAND will be joining Manchester City.

Manchester City are set to declare that they have completed the signing of Erling Haaland, their top summer target, after reaching an agreement with all parties. It has been agreed on personal terms for a five-year basic contract worth £350,000 per week, and the club has now agreed to trigger the striker's £64million release clause with his present club, Borussia Dortmund.

For over 18 months, the Premier League's top team has been chasing after the striking sensation, who is considered one of Europe's hottest properties. City, on the other hand, decided to wait for Haaland this summer after their hopes to recruit Harry Kane were derailed last summer.

And Guardiola's belief that they would be able to function without a recognized striker has been partially confirmed this season, with City in pole position to win the Premier League. With the addition of the Norway international to the squad, City's management expects the club to progress to the next level and, specifically, to fight for the Champions League once more.

It is possible that Haaland will be paid at the top of City's wage structure, with only Kevin de Bruyne earning more than him. Haaland, who was born in Leeds, has scored 85 goals in 88 games and might earn more than him. His father, Alf-Inge Haaland, is also likely to benefit financially from the transaction as an advisor, netting a multi-million-pound bonanza.

With any luck, the deal, which is expected to be confirmed jointly by Dortmund and City, will allow the striker to link up with the club before the Premier League champions elect's tour of the United States in July.

City are confident in their ability to balance the books, despite the fact that Fernandinho is expected to depart the club in the summer and that Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus are both candidates to go following the arrival of Haaland in the summer. Arsenal is keeping a close eye on both of these prospects.

Due to their expiring contracts in 2023, the duo is expected to be paid quite well. In order to make any deals, the Gunners would need to secure Champions League football for the next season.

Fernandinho, on the other hand, believes winning the Premier League with City would be the "sweetest" of all the achievements he has achieved during his time at the Etihad Stadium. The 37-year-old experienced midfielder is poised to quit City in the summer following nine seasons in the Premier League.
"Every title is delectable," he stated. That means one more...with a little bit more sugar, of course. Because we are confident in our ability to win the Premier League, it doesn't matter what they do over there [at Anfield]. We must persevere through all of the difficult games."

"Being victorious against Newcastle was a fantastic answer to our failure in Madrid, especially for our supporters and ourselves, because when you lose a match like this, your confidence might be a little bit shattered." It wasn't only about the outcome; the total performance was excellent, and we are quite pleased with it."

City are less than pleased with the defensive injury issue that has come at the worst possible time, with Fernandinho being forced to play center back against Newcastle when Ruben Dias failed to emerge from the dressing room after the break. In addition to John Stones and Kyle Walker being ruled out for the season, Nathan Ake is also suffering from an ankle injury, leaving only Aymeric Laporte as the only completely fit central defender for the rest of the season. Fernandinho appears to be in line to play a role in the defense, with Rodri also capable of playing at centre half.
