According to Naija News, Fani-Kayode took to Twitter on Wednesday to warn that at least 22 MPs are threatening to leave the ruling All Progressives Congress and join the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).The former minister of aviation stated that the legislators were upset over their defeat in the party's primary election and had vowed to join the opposition party.
Fani-Kayode expressed concern over the development and requested Abdullahi Adamu, the national chairman of the APC, to reach out to them promptly and fix the matter.
He stated that the ruling party cannot afford to lose 22 senators prior to the national election in 2023.
Fani-Kayode made the following statement via Twitter: "22 APC Senators are threatening to decamp to PDP since they have been denied the tickets to return to the Senate."

"This is a severe matter, and steps must be taken to prevent it. Many are concerned, and we strongly urge our competent National Chairman National. Secretary to reach out to them. We are unable to afford to lose them."
According to Naija News, some legislators have defected from the APC to join other parties, including the PDP.
Adamu Abdullahi, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), met with senators elected on the platform earlier today.
Adamu allegedly came at the National Assembly compound shortly after 2:00 p.m. Before the general gathering, he walked to the office of Senate President Ahmad Lawan for a brief meeting.
Lawan had previously read aloud in the plenary session a letter that had been signed by Ajayi Borofice, who serves as the Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate, and it announced that the meeting will take place at the location in question at 2:00 pm.
