Akintola was responding to the suggestion by the presiding judge, Justice Haruna Tsammani, that the petitioners reduce the size of their legal team to allow greater public participation.

Akintola communicated the team's position that any attorney conducting post-proceeding press conferences would be expelled, emphasizing that all courtroom discussions should remain within the courtroom.

“My lord, if you observe none of our lawyers does that, anything said here remains here,” Akintola quoted.

In addition, Akintola informed the court that the APC team, consisting of 38 Senior Advocates of Nigeria and other attorneys, has been streamlined such that each attorney has been assigned a specific week to attend the proceedings.

Chris Uche, chief counsel for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Atiku Abubakar, assured the court that their legal team would be reduced in accordance with its request.

However, he emphasized the value of election petition periods for lawyers to acquire experience with election petition procedures.
