Tinubu's communications officer, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, confirmed this in an Abuja statement.
President Buhari had asked Tinubu, the former governor of Lagos, to his final public prayer session at the State House Mosque before Monday's inauguration.

Several dignitaries, including former Ogun State Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Buba Marwa, and Mallam Shehu Garba, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, as well as other presidential aides, attended the prayer session.
Official handover activities began on Thursday, with Tinubu and Vice President-elect Senator Kashim Shettima receiving the highest national honors and the presidential transfer documents.

Additional activities, such as Muslim prayers and interdenominational Christian services, are planned for Friday and Sunday, respectively, according to the statement.
Both activities were planned for Abuja's National Mosque and the National Ecumenical Centre, and similar prayer sessions were held across the country.

During these religious gatherings, Imams prayed for the upcoming administration's success, asking Allah to guide Tinubu and his deputy.
They advised Muslims to pray for their leaders and the country on a regular basis, as Islam encourages.
Tinubu informed the media after the State House prayer session that he joined President Buhari in prayer to seek Almighty Allah's support for his impending governance duty.
