I Have Brought Progress To The State Of Imo – Uzodimma Boasts

Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo State, stated that he inherited a decaying state when he assumed office in 2020.

According to Naija News, the governor stated that his three years of stewardship in the state have brought about significant positive changes and growth.

According to him, his administration has "re-established" the civil service, created a payroll, and initiated the rehabilitation of the entire infrastructure, which he characterized as being in a state of disrepair.

Uzodimma, who is pursuing a second term on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the upcoming November 11 elections, stated that when he became governor, he exhumed the state from the cemetery.

Wednesday, while answering questions on Channels Television's Politics Today, the governor stated, "Given the situation in Imo State before 2020, when I became governor, and the situation in Imo State today, 2023, three years later, there are many things for people to see that a significant difference exists.

“When I came to Imo State, I met a moribund state, a state that was in distress. A state, I can even say, that was in the cemetery; I exhumed the body.

“Can you imagine a state where I came as the governor and everybody absconded? No handover note. There was no compass for me to navigate the aircraft.

“The infrastructure deficit was so huge, all the roads were not motorable, and all the hospitals were not working.”
