Round-up of transfers: Rasmus Hojlund of Denmark signs a five-year contract with Manchester United

Josko Gvardiol, a defensive player of Croatia, has officially signed a five-year contract with Manchester City coming from RB Leipzig

Manchester United has hired a 20-year-old Danish striker named Rasmus Hojlund from the Atalanta team in Italy for a five-year contract until 2028. The deal is said to be worth €83 million.

"I've been a fan of this amazing club since I was a kid, and I always dreamt of playing at Old Trafford as a Manchester United player," Hojlund said.

"After talking to the manager, I realized that this place would be great for my growth. I am really excited to work with one of the best coaches in the world. "

Hojlund used to play for FC Copenhagen and Sturm Graz. He joined Atalanta at the beginning of the 2022-23 season and scored nine goals in the league, which was a big achievement for him.

He has been doing very well for Denmark this year, scoring six goals in four games for the national team.

United was in need of a striker because Wout Weghorst, who played as the main forward in the latter part of last season, only managed to score two goals in 31 games across all competitions.

Manager Erik ten Hag is hoping that Hojlund will score goals for Old Trafford. Another important skill that Hojlund possesses is his ability to hold onto the ball, which could open up chances for other attacking midfielders such as Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount.

"Manchester United's football director John Murtough said that working with Erik ten Hag and his coaches will be the ideal opportunity for Rasmus to grow and improve. "

During the summer, we moved fast and made firm decisions to successfully acquire our main goals at the beginning of the player transfer time.

This will make sure that Erik and his coaches have the best chance to get the team ready to try for more success in the upcoming exciting season.

Hojlund has joined United in this transfer window, making him the third player to sign for the team. Before him, Mount and Andre Onana also joined United from Chelsea and Inter Milan respectively.

Meanwhile, Manchester City has finished the process of signing Josko Gvardiol, a defender from Croatia, from RB Leipzig. They have signed a contract with him for five years.

The 21-year-old finished his medical check-up with City on Friday afternoon. This happened after the Premier League champions and Leipzig agreed on a payment of €90 million.

The city made an announcement on their official website saying they are very happy to confirm that they have signed Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig for a five-year contract.

"A 21-year-old player is now joining the team for the upcoming 2023/24 season. He is the second player to sign during this summer transfer period, just like another Croatian player named Mateo Kovacic. "

Gvardiol played for Leipzig for the past two seasons and has appeared in 87 matches in different competitions. He was an important player for Croatia, helping them reach the semi-finals of the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.

He said: "I have always wanted to play in England and now I am playing with Manchester City. It's a great honor for me, especially after their successful season. "

If you watched Manchester City play last season, you would know that they are the best team in the world. When a team wins the treble, it means they are really good.

Joining City is really important to me and my family. It will be great to have the opportunity to work with Pep Guardiola. I know I am not perfect yet, but I believe my skills will improve with the best football coach.

Gvardiol will make the left side of City's defense more competitive. He played for Croatia and helped them reach the top four in the World Cup and the final of the Nations League. Unfortunately, they lost to Spain in the final.

He began playing for Dinamo Zagreb when he was 17 years old in 2019. Instead of going to Leeds, he decided to join RB Leipzig in the summer of 2021 for €16 million.

Gvardiol went back to Zagreb on a temporary basis for the rest of the 2020-21 season and assisted them in winning both national championships.

In his first season playing at the Red Bull Arena, Leipzig won a big trophy called the DFB-Pokal. They also earned a spot in the Champions League because they came in second place to the Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich.

Gvardiol played in 59 matches for Leipzig in all competitions. Leipzig also made it to the semi-finals of the 2022 Europa League and qualified for another season in the Champions League.

Gvardiol started playing for Croatia in a tournament called Euro 2020. They lost their first game against England. Gvardiol played the entire game. He also played all the games for Croatia in the 2022 World Cup and they finished in third place.
