Manchester United said Erik ten Hag will deliver Pep Guardiola trait to Old Trafford.

An ex-Ajax captain has provided some insight into how Manchester United's full-backs might function under ten Hag.

Manchester United supporters have been given even another cause to be thrilled about the impending arrival of Erik ten Hag.
In his third season with Ajax, the Dutchman is on set to win his third straight Eredivisie title, having finished first or second in each of the previous two seasons. According to a former player, his domestic supremacy, as well as his style of play, would heighten the excitement among United followers.

Brighton defender Joel Veltman was a part of Ten Hag's transformation of Ajax early in his career. Prior to his transfer to England in 2020, he was appointed captain by the coach.

As the full-back described his desire to play complete football in his own way, similar to that of Pep Guardiola, Ten Hag also wanted to incorporate a modernist element into his game. In an interview with The Argus, he stated that "(Ten Hag adds) new things as well.

As Guardiola has done at Manchester City, Ten Hag wants to accomplish the same thing at the club he supports. For example, Joao Cancelo is a right-back, but he is moving inside and the winger is lowering a little bit, which causes a shift in the formation of the squad.

"It's something Ten Hag does as well," says the author. Veltman went on to say that even his daughter has been asked about Ten Hag by a friend of hers who is a Manchester United fan.

As he said, "My daughter attends school, and one of her classmates is also a United fan." He's already asking, 'How's Ten Hag?' he says. Is he a good guy? Are there any positive things that he does for our club?' You know, the kind of thing."
