On Wednesday, the 9th House of Representatives in Nigeria will hold a farewell gathering.

This is in preparation for the inauguration of the 10th House, scheduled for June 13th.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Clerk of the House of Representatives, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, detailed the event.

Speaker of the House Femi Gbajabiamila will deliver his final address during the farewell session, while the House's principal officers offer messages of benevolence.

Gbajabiamila, who will not return to the House, has endorsed Tajudeen Abbas for the position of 10th Assembly speaker.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has also supported Benjamin Kalu for the position of Deputy Speaker.

At the departure event, other members, former presiding officers of the House, and former Clerks of the National Assembly will offer remarks and best wishes.

Moreover, Speaker Gbajabiamila will present membership certificates to members of the 9th House during the session.
