Coverage of Scholarships

The recipient of a McDonald Fellowship will receive the following:

  • The living and travel expenses for a fellow will be £30,000 GBP per year.
  • The institute of a fellow will receive £2,000 GBP.

McDonald Fellowship Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must meet all of the following conditions to be considered for McDonald Fellowships:
  • English is a required language.
  • International students from low- and middle-income countries are eligible to apply.
  • A candidate must hold a Master's degree, a PhD, or a medical degree.
  • If a candidate is working on multiple sclerosis in another low- or middle-income country, he or she is also eligible.
  • Because the applicant and host institute will be working together on the application, a candidate must choose his or her host institute before applying, whether it is in their home country or a neighboring nation if travel is permitted.
  • At the time of nomination, you must be working or studying in a low- or middle-income country (any nations with a low, lower middle, or higher middle income as defined by the World Bank).
  • As in six months prior to the nomination, working or studying abroad on a project that began during that time period
  • Studying in a different country as part of a project funded by the MS International Federation

How to Make an Application for a McDonald Fellowship

To apply for a McDonald Fellowship, please complete the steps outlined below:

  • Fill out the entire online application form.
  • At the end of the application, the Host must offer a supporting statement*.
  • Include the names and contact information for three referees, one of whom should be the applicant's current supervisor or employer.
  • Request that referees send their letters to [email protected] before the deadline.
