Ike Ekweremadu and His wife Have been arrested in the UK on suspected organ harvesting

Ike Ekweremadu, a resident of Nigeria, and his wife, Beatrice, have both been taken into custody and charged in connection with an alleged plan to remove an organ from a kid.

According to an article published by Naija News, the Specialist Crime Team of the UK Metropolitan Police detained Ekweremadu and his wife when they were in London.

The Metropolitan Police Department issued a statement on Thursday confirming that the two individuals were involved in a conspiracy to arrange the passage of a child to the county for the purpose of organ harvesting from the minor.

Following an investigation by the police department's special crime division, the two individuals have reportedly been charged with crimes and will be appearing in court.

The police further stated that the inquiry was initiated when investigators in May 2022 were made aware of probable violations of modern slavery regulations. This information led to the commencement of the investigation.

On the other hand, it revealed that the youngster has been placed in the hands of a responsible adult.

The following is an excerpt from the statement that was released: "Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu, 55 (10.9.66), of Nigeria is charged with conspiracy to arrange/facilitate the flight of another person with the intention of exploitation, specifically organ harvesting."

"Ike Ekweremadu, 60 (12.05.62) of Nigeria is charged with conspiracy to arrange or aid the flight of another person with a view to exploitation, specifically organ harvesting. The case stems from allegations that Ekweremadu was involved in the trafficking of human organs.

Both of them have been taken into custody, and they are scheduled to make an appearance at the Uxbridge Magistrates' Court later on today.

Following an investigation carried out by the Specialist Crime division of the Metropolitan Police, charges were brought against the two individuals, both of whom are from Nigeria.

"In May 2022, investigators were tipped off about possible violations of legislation pertaining to modern slavery, which prompted them to open an inquiry.

"A kid has been protected, and we are collaborating closely with our partners to ensure that they receive ongoing support.

We are unable to provide any further information at this time because criminal proceedings have already begun.

In the meantime, Ike Ekweremadu, who once served as the Deputy President of the Senate, has asserted that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, will never be elected President of Nigeria.

In a conversation on Wednesday with members of the media, an Enugu politician admitted that Obi is a credible candidate and that he is from the South East, but that he lacks the mass appeal necessary to win elections.

According to Ekweremadu, the former governor of Anambra State cannot win the presidential election in 2023, and the South East cannot afford to waste their votes on a candidate who cannot win.
